Have you ever thought about all the people who have been a part of your life and have shaped it in some way. The people who pushed you to be a better person, they laughed with you when something funny happened, they cried with you when you struggled. Those who you played crazy games with, skipped school with or just hung out with. Teammates, Coaches, teachers, parents, siblings, the list goes on and on. I am continually amazed at how many people influence us and make us who we are. From the people in our lives who discourage us to those who build us up every one of them contributes to us becoming who we are.
Over the past 34 years I have had friendships with some outstanding people who continue to influence me for the better. To recognize every one of you would take much time and then I would forget someone. The years spent in school were a blast, and the friends I have through that are great. Four years in the Navy would be very difficult without the friends and coworkers that understand what you go through daily, thanks. My teammates that helped me become a better athlete. The kids that have been a part of the ministries I have been involved in. I know I am looked at as the teacher, but I want you to know you have taught me as well. I want all of you to know that you have influenced me greatly. I am continually thankful that God placed you in my life, and I pray that you experience the same joy in your friendships both now and forever.
My parents continue to show me what it means to live out Christ daily. Even though I am apart from you, you have greatly influenced me to be a man who relies on the strength and power the Lord gives me. My BEAUTIFUL wife, who God gave me to enlarge my sense of humor. I still am amazed how God brought us together. I am so thankful for my kids, Ethan and Brooklyn make me so happy, I only pray that I can live out a true godly example of what it means to follow Christ daily. I have a long ways to go. Lastly, I want to thank Jesus. Without Him all of this wouldn't be possible. You are the Savior of the World, and my Savior as well.
